CH2N FK-KMK UGM in collaboration with the Directorate of Marine Services, KKP RI, again held an Online Focus Group Discussion (FGD) II. The focus of the issues discussed in this FGD was the suitability of national standards for the nutritional value of salt with the needs of the Indonesian people, as well as the importance of regulations to support the utilization of mineral potentials in the salt for consumption of the Indonesian people. Focus Group Discussion took place on Monday, 5 October 2020 at 09.00 – 12.00 WIB. This discussion was conducted via Zoom Meeting, attended by speakers from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, PT Garam, the Ministry of Industry, and Salt Farmers. The facilitators in this discussion were Suadi, Ph.D. (UGM), Dr. Siti Helmyati, DCN., M.Kes., (UGM), Dr. Lily Arsanti L., S.TP., MP., (UGM). The FGD implementation ran smoothly and conducive. We will process the results of this FGD into information which will later be compiled in the form of an academic paper.

Focus Group Discussions (FGD) discussed the suitability of national standards for the nutritional value of salt with the needs of the Indonesian people and the potential for minerals in salt to support public health efforts. This discussion was a series of collaboration between the UGM FK-KMK Center for Human Health and Nutrition with the Directorate of Marine Services of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia. This discussion was conducted via Zoom Meeting in 2 days, 7 – 8 September 2020 at 09.00 – 12.00 WIB. On the first day, it was attended by speakers from the Republic of Indonesia KKP, Tuban DKP, BSN, and BPOM, Ministry of Industry. On the second day, it was attended by speakers from the fields of academics (Brawijaya University, Airlangga University, Diponegoro University), Professional Organizations (Persagi, Pergizi Pangan Indonesia), and the Ministry of Health. The facilitators in this discussion were Dr. Siti Helmyati, DCN., M.Kes., Mutiara Tirta P.L.K, P.Hd, Lely Lusmilasari, S.Kp., M.Kes., P.HD., Dr. Lily Arsanti L., S.TP., MP., Suadi, Ph.D. (UGM). The FGD implementation ran smoothly and conducive. We will process the results of this FGD into information which will later be compiled in the form of an academic paper.
This webinar was the beginning of a series of activities to assess the standard nutritional value of salt in Indonesia. This activity was a form of collaboration between the UGM FK-KMK Center for Human Health and Nutrition with the Directorate of Marine Services of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia. The webinar was held via Zoom Meeting in 2 days, 15 – 16 July 2020, 09.00 – 12.00 WIB, followed by participants from KKP RI, BPOM, BSN, Ministry of Health, Persagi, Indonesian Food Nutrition, DKP Pati, DKP Tuban, DKP Bali, Brawijaya University, Airlangga University, Alma Ata University, Diponegoro University, Indonesian Education University (participants were limited to invitations only).
